The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.
Abstract: A method for pest control using a cell-penetrating peptide conjugated soy-bean trypsin inhibitor is provided. The method includes producing (902) a recombinant fusion protein including at least one of a protease inhibitor se-quence derived from a plant source and a cell-penetrating peptide (CPP) se-quence conjugated to the protease inhibitor sequence via a peptide linker and applying (904) an effective amount of the recombinant fusion protein to at least one of: a target pest or an environment. The production of the recombi- nant fusion protein includes expressing a nucleotide sequence encoding the recombinant fusion protein in a heterologous host, isolating the recombinant fusion protein from a plurality of inclusion bodies using a denaturing agent comprising 8 molarity (M) urea, refolding the denatured protein using a glu-tathione-mediated redox system comprising reduced glutathione (GSH) and oxidized glutathione (GSSG) and purifying the refolded protein via an affini-ty chromatography.
