Abstract: A system for controlling energy recovered from regenerative braking in a vehicle includes a regenerative energy recovery module configured to recover energy when the vehicle is braking. A control module is coupled to the regenerative energy recovery module and configured to receive the recovered energy. A battery and supercapacitor are coupled to the control module. The control module determines whether the battery's state of charge exceeds a pre-defined value and provides recovered energy to the supercapacitor when the battery's state of charge exceeds this value. A DC-DC block is coupled to the supercapacitor and battery. A low voltage controller is coupled to the DC-DC block. One or more low voltage systems are coupled to the low voltage controller.
