Abstract: A method for predicting CSI in a wireless communication system, the method comprising: receiving, from a base station: a full CSI-RS configuration indicating a first set of antenna ports; and a list of sub CSI RS configurations indicating a second set of antenna ports that is a smaller subset of the first set; determining whether the full CSI RS configuration and a sub CSI RS configuration are nested or non-nested; selecting, based on the determining, an AI/ML-based or non AI/ML-based prediction technique; selecting a target size for a CSI representation; predicting, using the selected prediction technique, a CSI comprising: (i) a full CSI corresponding to the full CSI RS configuration based on a measured sub CSI corresponding to the sub CSI RS configuration, or (ii) a sub CSI corresponding to the sub CSI RS configuration based on a measured full CSI corresponding to the full CSI RS configuration; and transmitting a CSI report based on the predicted CSI.
