MUMBAI, India, June 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411090055 A) filed by Samsung Electronics Co. , Ltd. on November 20, 2024, for Methods And Systems For Light Identification And Brightness Correction.

Inventors include Kumar, Nishant; Sharma, Saransh; and Garg, Vaibhav.

The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method (1800) for light identification and brightness correction. The method (1800) includes receiving (1802) an input media having an array of pixels. Further, the method (1800) includes capturing (1804) ambient light data based on selecting a first part of the array of pixels. Further, deriving (1806) a clock signal with a custom sampling frequency to switch the first part of the array of pixels between the emission mode and the transduction mode using a time-division multiplexing (TDM). Further, generating (1808) a pixel-specific matrix based on the ambient light data. Further, creating (1810) a contour map based on an observed brightness value (OBV) of affected pixels in pixel-specific matrix. Further, generating (1812) smooth transitions between the brightness-adjusted and non-adjusted pixel regions based on applying a blur effect to the contour map. Further, generating (1814) a corrected brightness frame by updating the input media based on the contour map.
