Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems 200 and methods 700 for hand tracking in a head mounted device (HMD). Initially, occurrence of a disproportionate hand movement while performing hand tracking of a user hand is detected. Further, trajectory of movement of user hand based on a correlation between a user eye gaze location and a user hand location in one or more previous frames associated with the FOV of the HMD is predicted. Finally, hand tracking in the HMD is performed during the disproportionate hand movement based on the predicted trajectory of the movement of the user hand.
