MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621040124 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Indore on March 30, 2026, for Methods And Systems For Blind Identification Of Modulation And Coding Scheme For Radio Frequency Signals.

Inventors include R, Swaminathan; Sahrudai S. , Sai; and Ahamed, Nayim.

The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method (700) for blind identification of a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) for a radio frequency (RF) signal in a wireless communication system. The RF signal transmitted over a wireless channel is received at a receiving module (302). A plurality of signal features is extracted corresponding to the RF signal based on applying one or more feature-extraction operations to the RF signal. The plurality of signal features includes one or more time-domain features and one or more frequency-domain features associated with the RF signal. The MCS for the RF signal is identified based on evaluating the plurality of signal features via a Deep Learning (DL) model (210). The MCS includes a modulation format and a coding rate selected for modulation and encoding of the RF signal.
