According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, user equipment (UE) includes at least one memory and at least one processor coupled to the at least one memory and configured to cause the UE to: transmit a discovery message; and establish a first PC5 connection between the UE and a relay UE and establish a second PC5 connection between the UE and a remote UE, wherein a connection between the relay UE and a network node is established, and wherein the remote UE is expected to establish an end-to-end connection towards the network node via both the UE and the relay UE.
