Abstract: A glass manufacturing apparatus includes a forming device defining a travel path along which molten material travels in a travel direction. The glass manufacturing apparatus includes a thermal control device positioned adjacent to the flow passage and defining a thermal control path. The thermal control path intersects the flow passage and alters a temperature of the molten material passing through the flow passage. Methods of manufacturing a glass ribbon are provided.
