A node in a radio access network receives, from the WTRU, first information indicative of a type of service to invoke for the WTRU; transmits, to a user plane function selection node, a request indicative of a service of the type of service to invoke for the WTRU and of an identifier of the WTRU; receives, from the anchor selection node, a first response indicative of a selected user plane node; establishes a connection with the selected user plane node; and transmits, to the WTRU, a second response indicative of an identifier of the connection.
