The application for the patent was published on July 31, 2026, under issue no. 31/2026.

Abstract: A method includes: configuring a user equipment (UE) to be in an operational state of dual connectivity (DC) to receive non-contiguous intra-band carriers as a fragmented carrier aggregation (CA) configuration within a fragmented new radio (NR) frequency band, where the UE is in a first receiver state; transmitting, by the UE to a network apparatus, an indication of a capability; and receiving, by the UE from the network apparatus, an indication allocating resources that are from LTE rank reduction to add receiver RF chains to increase a count of NR receivers in NR band configurations at the UE; and transitioning to a second receiver state applied at the non-contiguous intra-band carriers.
