Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of synthesis of banana peel cellulose into cellulose/guar gum-g-poly(gma) composite from banana peel waste. Micro-cellulose (MC) was extracted and chemically modified through graft copolymerization with glycidyl methacrylate (GMA), followed by acrylic acid (AAc) incorporation in the presence of guar gum, using potassium persulfate (KPS) as a free radical initiator. The resulting polymeric matrices were characterized to assess structural changes. Sorbents were tested for dual adsorption of Fe(III) and Cu(II) ions under competitive and non-competitive conditions, showing higher affinity for Fe(III). The kinetic and isotherm analyses confirmed pseudo-second-order, Weber–Morris IPD, Boyd’s, Langmuir, and Temkin models fit best, validating adsorption efficiency.
