MUMBAI, India, July 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611044442 A) filed by Malaviya National Institute Of Technology Jaipur on April 07, 2026, for Method Of Preparing Composites Of Magnesium Alloy Reinforced With Nano- Strontium Oxide By Friction Stir Processing.

Inventors include Dr. Jinesh Kumar Jain; Anshul Gupta; and Dr. Pankaj Sonia.

The application for the patent was published on July 10, 2026, under issue no. 28/2026.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method of preparing a composite of Magnesium (Mg) alloy reinforced with nano-strontium oxide (SrO) comprising a) providing a sheet of Mg alloy comprising (i) magnesium in the range of 94 to 96 wt%;(ii) aluminium in the range of 3-4wt%; and (iii) Zinc in the range of 1-2wt% ; b) forming a groove in the sheet of Mg alloy; c) filling the groove with nano- strontium oxide (SrO) to obtain a filled Mg alloy sheet; d) subjecting the filled Mg alloy sheet to pass multi-pass friction stir processing at a rotational speed of 1500 rpm and at progressively increasing traverse speeds to obtain the Mg alloy reinforced with nano-SrO.
