The method can also include configuring a first firmware update of a firmware of the computing device sub-component of the ATM to utilize the manufacturer RSA asymmetric key-pair for firmware protection. The method can also include configuring, after the configuring the first firmware update, a second firmware update of the firmware of the computing device sub-component of the ATM to utilize the at least one AES key for firmware protection.
