Abstract: Provided is a method for using a phenothiazine derivative compound, wherein when producing a synthetic polymer material produced by addition polymerization of a polymerizable unsaturated monomer, the polymerizable unsaturated monomer constituting the synthetic polymer material is copolymerized with a phenothiazine derivative compound represented by a general formula (R1 is a C1-10 monovalent aliphatic hydrocarbon group, and R2 is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group) to prevent the oxidative deterioration of the synthetic polymer material. This compound can be copolymerized with various polymerizable unsaturated monomers because the polymerization inhibiting effect characteristic of phenothiazine compounds is reduced.
