Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for synthesizing fluorine-doped tin oxide nanomaterials with optimized optical and electrical properties for solar energy applications. The method comprises preparing a precursor solution comprising a tin precursor and a fluorine dopant precursor at a controlled molar ratio, subjecting the solution to a controlled nanomaterial synthesis process, such as hydrothermal synthesis, solvothermal synthesis, sol-gel processing, or spray pyrolysis, and subjecting the resulting nanostructures to post-synthesis washing, drying, and thermal annealing to achieve targeted crystallinity and dopant activation. The synthesized nanomaterial is characterized through X-Ray Diffraction, ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy, electrical resistivity measurement, and electron microscopy, with synthesis parameters iteratively optimized to achieve high electrical conductivity and high optical transparency. The optimized nanomaterial may be deposited as a transparent conducting thin film within photovoltaic devices, including thin-film, dye-sensitized, and perovskite solar cells, providing a cost-effective, indium-free alternative for enhancing solar energy conversion efficiency.
