Abstract: The present invention pertains to a method for selecting ovomucoid-free shelled chicken eggs, the method comprising: a measurement step for irradiating a shelled egg with light including light having a specific wavelength to measure the absorbed amount of the light having the specific wavelength; a calculation step for calculating a determination value by substituting the absorbed amount into a conversion formula; and a selection step for selecting an ovomucoid-free shelled chicken egg on the basis of the determination value. The conversion formula is derived from the result of measurement of the absorbed amount of the light having the specific wavelength with respect to ovomucoid-containing shelled chicken eggs and ovomucoid-free shelled chicken eggs.
