MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641115417 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on September 26, 2026, for Method For Securing A Medical Image Using Quantum Syndrome-Control And Reversible Watermarking.

Inventors include Anindita Kundu; and Sourodeep Kundu.

The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT METHOD FOR SECURING A MEDICAL IMAGE USING QUANTUM SYNDROME-CONTROL AND REVERSIBLE WATERMARKING A method (200) for securing a medical image is provided. The method (200) is of the type wherein a reversible watermarking operation embeds metadata into a cover medical image (502), wherein a tamper-localization operation (600) detects alterations to the watermarked image, and wherein a restoration operation recovers the original cover medical image (502) from the watermarked image. The improvement comprises deriving syndrome bits from a cover-image hash (302), a payload hash (304), an embedding-map hash (306), and a recovery-map hash (308). The syndrome bits are encoded into a quantum syndrome-control tag using Bell-pair phase encoding via a Bell-pair phase encoder (314). The quantum syndrome-control tag is decoded at a receiver via a Bell-basis measurement unit (318) to verify extraction authorization and capsule integrity prior to performing the restoration operation. An extraction authorization signal (322) is produced based on comparison of the decoded syndrome with an expected capsule state. (Fig. 1)
