MUMBAI, India, Aug. 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541007808 A) filed by Bharat Electronics Limited on January 30, 2025, for Method For Resource Optimization For Object Tracking In Multifunctional Radar.

Inventors include Dilep Kumar; Bhagyashree P; and Mahesh S.

The application for the patent was published on July 31, 2026, under issue no. 31/2026.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method (100) for optimizing radar resource utilization in phased array radar systems. The method (102) includes detecting (102) multiple objects within a single search beam and calculating (104) a single confirmation beam based on their spatial distribution and centroid. The single confirmation beam is scheduled (106) to the beam scheduler, replacing individual confirmation beams for each object. The method (100) dynamically adjusts (108) the search update rate to ensure efficient resource utilization and uninterrupted surveillance. The method (100) minimizes (110) redundant requests, improving tracking performance and reducing operational time. The approach employs a centroiding process, adaptive trajectory prediction, and prioritization based on object criticality. The method (100) ensures compatibility with existing radar systems, optimizes energy consumption, and balances resource allocation between surveillance and tracking, significantly enhancing radar efficiency and performance. Figure 1 will be the reference.
