Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure relate to a UE, a processor for wireless communication, a network entity, methods, and a computer readable medium for requesting a downlink (DL) signal. The UE determines whether at least one trigger condition of a request for a DL signal is fulfilled. The UE transmits, to a network entity, the request for the DL signal based on determining that the at least one trigger condition is fulfilled. In this way, UE can request DL signal in on-demand manner and network energy saving is achieved accordingly.
