MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521027533 A) filed by China Nerin Engineering Co. , Ltd. on March 25, 2025, for Method For Refining Selenium And Apparatus For Refining Selenium.

Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a method for refining selenium and an apparatus for refining selenium. The method includes the following steps: oxidizing crude selenium to generate selenium dioxide gas, and introducing the selenium dioxide gas into a solvent for dissolution and absorption to obtain selenious acid solution; introducing a reducing agent into the selenious acid solution for a reduction reaction, and obtaining an elemental selenium-containing filter cake by performing separation; and performing thermal washing, separation, dehydration and drying on the elemental selenium-containing filter cake, to obtain a refined selenium product. The method of the present disclosure is simple in process. The selenious acid solution formed after the oxidation and the absorption of the crude selenium only needs to be reduced, thermally washed, separated, and dried to produce qualified refined selenium. The method of the present disclosure has a short production cycle, which saves more than 44 hours compared with traditional processes. The present disclosure reduces a production cost while ensuring quality of the refined selenium. The apparatus for refining selenium of the present disclosure requires fewer devices, and has a low one-time investment in apparatus, which is conducive to a production management.
