The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.

Abstract: Embodiments herein relate to a method for producing a recombinant protein in a fed-batch culture process. The method comprises analyzing metabolites in spent culture medium collected during cultivation of a recombinant host cell and performing metabolic modeling to determine intracellular metabolic flux distribution. Based on the flux balance analysis, at least one extracellular metabolite influencing recombinant protein production is identified and incorporated into a feed composition used during the fed- batch process. Metabolic modeling is further used to determine oxygen transfer requirements for the culture. The recombinant host cell is cultured using the modified feed composition while maintaining oxygen transfer conditions sufficient to meet the determined oxygen transfer requirements. The method provides a systematic and model-guided approach for nutrient supplementation and bioprocess optimization with reduced experimental effort and is applicable to microbial and mammalian cell culture systems.
