MUMBAI, India, June 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641073277 A) filed by Dayananda Sagar College Of Engineering on June 12, 2026, for Method For Real-Time Onboard Generation Of Synchronized Synthetic Aperture Radar Imagery Using Low-Power Companion Computing On Uav Platforms.

Inventors include Dr Smitha Sasi; C P Shreeramya; Eshwari; Bhavyashree T R; and Divya M S.

The application for the patent was published on June 19, 2026, under issue no. 25/2026.

Abstract: The invention is a low power and lightweight Synthetic Aperture Radar integrated with an UAV. This system generates high resolution images by synchronizing raw IQ signal from the FMCW radar module with accurate positional data of the UAV. The data from the FMCW radar module is through optimized Serial Peripheral Interface data pipeline on the companion computer which transforms the synchronized data to single look complex formatted data. Through this method expensive, high bandwidth capture hardware can be avoided and enables day or night remote sensing on small scale area.
