Abstract: The present invention proposes a method for for prompting a user to switch on a vehicle's (100) autonomous emergency braking system (AEB), wherein in case a Telematics service unit (30) receives the information that the autonomous emergency braking system (AEB) is in an inactive state, in a first step (S1) the Telematics service unit (30) gathers and processes information regarding the remaining allowed driving time of the vehicle (100) driver (1) and whether the vehicle (100) is driving in a city or not and the actual time of the day, and in a second step (S2) the Telematics service unit (30) calculates a score from the processed information that indicates whether the autonomous emergency braking system (AEB) should be switched on, and in case the score is above a predetermined threshold score, and in a third step (S3) the Telematics service unit (30) prompts a message (A) to the vehicle (100) driver (1) that he shall switch on the autonomous emergency braking system (AEB).
