The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: The purpose of the present invention is to provide a cartilage tissue body that has a sufficient mechanical strength and thickness, that does not contain scaffold components derived from other animals, and that is highly safe. The present invention provides a method for producing a scaffold-free three-dimensional cartilage tissue, the method comprising a step for culturing a modularized polyimide porous membrane on which chondrocytes are seeded while allowing the membrane to float in a culture medium in a state in which the membrane is not fixed in a cell culture vessel for floating culture, while having shear stress applied to the modularized polyimide porous membrane. The present invention also provides: a scaffold-free three-dimensional cartilage tissue body; and a modularized polyimide porous membrane for producing a scaffold-free three-dimensional cartilage tissue body.
