MUMBAI, India, Aug. 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202617071518 A) filed by Kanto Denka Kogyo Co. ,Ltd. on June 09, 2026, for Method For Producing Phosphorus Pentafluoride And Method For Producing Hexafluorophosphate.
Inventors include Sano, Kosuke; Hamaguchi, Hiroki; Kimura, Norihisa; Harada, Akinori; and Ota, Teppei.
The application for the patent was published on July 31, 2026, under issue no. 31/2026.
Abstract: This method for producing phosphorus pentafluoride includes a dehydration step for dehydrating hexafluorophosphate hydrate using sulfuric acid having a sulfur trioxide content of less than 5 mass%. It is also preferable to include the following steps a) and b). a) A step for concentrating the sulfuric acid after the dehydration step. b) A step in which the sulfuric acid is reused in the production of phosphorus pentafluoride by using the sulfuric acid concentrated in step a) in the dehydration of hexafluorophosphate hydrate. It is also preferable that the dehydration step is performed in the presence of hydrogen fluoride, and that step c) is included before step a). c) A step for recovering the hydrogen fluoride after the dehydration step.
