The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.

Abstract: TITLE: Method for Producing Multifunctional Boron Carbon Oxynitride (BCNO) Nanorods The present invention relates to a method for producing boron carbon oxynitride (BCNO) nanorods (240) through a one-pot hydrothermal synthesis process. The method comprises preparing a boric acid solution and a melamine solution, mixing the solutions to obtain a homogeneous precursor mixture, and subjecting the mixture to hydrothermal treatment in a Teflon liner reaction vessel (180) enclosed within an autoclave (190). The reaction product is subsequently washed, centrifuged, and dried to obtain BCNO nanorods (240). The synthesized nanorods comprise boron, carbon, nitrogen, and oxygen incorporated within a defect-engineered lattice and possess a substantially solid, compact, non-hollow one-dimensional rod-like morphology with a mesoporous structure. The BCNO nanorods exhibit aggregation-induced emission, excitation-dependent photoluminescence, room-temperature phosphorescence, and hybrid electrochemical charge-storage behaviour. The invention provides a simple, scalable, and environmentally friendly process for producing multifunctional BCNO nanorods suitable for optical, sensing, photocatalytic, optoelectronic, and electrochemical energy-storage applications.
