MUMBAI, India, June 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411091860 A) filed by Indian Council Of Agricultural Research on November 25, 2024, for Method For Producing Increased Yield Of Recombinant Nucleocapsid Protein Of Porcine Reproductive And Respiratory Syndrome Virus.

Inventors include Tridib Kumar Rajkhowa; Madhuri Subbiah; Doris Zodinpui; Subhajit Mandal; and Kalaimagal Ragagopal.

The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.

Abstract: A nucleic acid encoding nucleocapsid (N) protein of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus, wherein said nucleic acid is codon optimized for expression in bacterial cells, wherein said nucleic acid comprises the nucleotide sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO: 1 or comprises a nucleotide sequence having at least 99% sequence identity to the nucleotide sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO: 1, wherein said nucleic acid is expressed in a host cell at a greater level of expression than the wild type N nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO: 3 in said host cell under the same conditions.
