Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for producing heat-resistant sheets and to a composition comprising processed pineapple skins. The invention utilizes pineapple peels as a renewable organic resource and converts them into eco-friendly sheets suitable for applications including packaging and insulation. The method comprises washing and drying pineapple peels at 60–70 °C, grinding to a fine powder (250 µm), and treating the powder with 70% ethanol to remove residual sugars. The processed powder is incorporated into a gelatinized starch matrix prepared from corn starch, glycerol, and citric acid at 80–90 °C, followed by addition of gelatin and carboxymethyl cellulose to enhance film strength. The homogeneous slurry is cast into molds, dried at room temperature and further at 50–60 °C to obtain sheets of 0.5–2 mm thickness. The invention provides a biodegradable alternative to synthetic heat-resistant materials and supports sustainable waste utilization.
