MUMBAI, India, Aug. 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611073594 A) filed by Maharishi Markandeshwar Deemed To Be University on June 13, 2026, for Method For Preparation Of Carica Papaya Seed-Mediated Zno Nanoparticle-Embedded Photocatalytic Cellulose Acetate Membrane And Application Thereof.
Inventors include Kajal Bhardwaj; and Dr. Arun Kumar Singh.
The application for the patent was published on July 31, 2026, under issue no. 31/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for preparing a Carica papaya seed-mediated ZnO nanoparticle-embedded photocatalytic cellulose acetate membrane. Carica papaya seed extract is utilized as a green reducing and stabilizing agent for the synthesis of ZnO nanoparticles, which are subsequently incorporated into a cellulose acetate matrix modified with stearic acid. The membrane is fabricated by a phase inversion technique to obtain a stable photocatalytic structure. The resulting CA/SA- ZnO membrane exhibits enhanced photocatalytic activity, hydrophobicity, mechanical stability, and antifouling properties. The membrane is suitable for the degradation of organic pollutants and wastewater treatment under light irradiation, providing an environmentally friendly and cost-effective solution for water purification.
