Inventors include Dr. P. Kannan; Dr. M. Mohamed Roshan Abu Fimass; Dr. M. Kottaisamy; Surya Teja Varanasi; Dr. A. Mohamed Haroon Basha; and Dr. K. Rajesh.

The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for producing a sustainable 5 nitrogen-rich organic fertilizer using a titanium dioxide (Ti02)- entrapped nanobiochar composite derived from human urine. The invention utilizes nano-biochar prepared from biomass of Prosopis juliflora waste and neutralized to maintain suitable pH conditions for nitrogen retention. Titanium dioxide (Ti02) nanoparticles are entrapped onto the nano-biochar surface to impart photocatalytic 10 and antimicrobial properties. Fresh human urine is introduced into the composite, enabling adsorption and stabilization of nitrogen compounds within the porous structure of nano-biochar while reducing ammonia volatilization and microbial contamination. The nitrogen-enriched composite is further coated with a biopolymer material and granulated to obtain a solid slow-release fertilizer suitable 15 for agricultural application. The developed fertilizer exhibits improved nitrogen retention, controlled nutrient release, enhanced nutrient use efficiency, and reduced environmental pollution. The invention provides an eco-friendly and cost-effective alternative to conventional synlht:tic nitrogen fertilizers while promoting nutrient recycling and sustainable agricultural practices.
