Abstract: Provided in the present application are a method for positioning, and an apparatus. The method for positioning comprises: a first terminal device receives first indication information from a network device; and, when the first terminal device needs to report a first measurement quantity, according to the first indication information, the first terminal device can determine a positioning reference signal associated with the first measurement quantity, such that the first terminal device can measure the first measurement quantity on the basis of the determined positioning reference signal associated with the first measurement quantity and report same, the first measurement quantity being used for determining the distance between the first terminal device and a second terminal device so as to assist in positioning the terminal device. According to the first indication information, the terminal device can determine the positioning reference signal associated with the measurement quantity, so as to avoid redundancy in reporting the measurement quantity caused by the terminal device determining by itself the reporting of the measurement quantity.
