The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.

Abstract: A method for modifying a titanium substrate surface for enhancing bioactive coating adhesion and nucleation comprises of the steps: mechanically polishing a titanium substrate to obtain a cleaned surface, treating the polished titanium substrate with an acidic solution comprising hydrofluoric acid, nitric acid and water to remove surface contaminants and native oxide layer, immersing the acid-treated titanium substrate in an aqueous hydrogen peroxide solution to form a hydrated titanium oxide layer comprising hydroxyl groups on the titanium substrate surface, immersing the hydrogen peroxide-treated titanium substrate in an aqueous calcium chloride solution to incorporate calcium ions into the hydrated titanium oxide layer, and thermally treating the calcium incorporated titanium substrate at a temperature of about 300°C for about 1 hour to convert the hydrated titanium oxide layer into a crystalline calcium-incorporated titanium dioxide surface comprising sub-micron rod structures.
