The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.

Abstract: The invention relates to waste valorization and materials processing for energy-storage applications, and more particularly to a method for converting organic waste mixed with carbon-containing waste into carbon-based material by laser irradiation. In some implementations, the method is also applicable to a carbon-rich by-product generated by prior thermal treatment, including biochar retaining residual organic components including bio-oil. A waste feedstock is positioned for exposure to a laser beam and treated by ultrafast laser writing or laser burning while the laser beam and the waste feedstock are moved relative to one another to sweep an irradiated spot across the surface at about 50 to 100 mm/s. Localized optical heating causes burnout or decomposition of the organic fraction and carbonization with structural reorganization of the carbon-containing fraction into graphitic, graphene-like, or otherwise conductive carbon material. The laser-treated product is recovered and directly transferred for cleaning to obtain the carbon-based material.
