MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641107341 A) filed by V. Dhanasekaran on September 07, 2026, for Method For Isolating High-Purity Plant Protein From Oilseed Cakes Using Sequential Mesh Filtration And Ultra-Acidification.

Inventor includes V. Dhanasekaran.

The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION Title of the Invention: Method for isolating high-purity plant protein from oilseed cakes using sequential mesh filtration and ultra- acidification The present invention relates to a centrifuge-free method for isolating a high-purity, mineral-fortified plant protein from oilseed cakes. The method comprises forming an aqueous slurry of powdered sesame oilseed cake, performing alkaline extraction, and subjecting the slurry to sequential mesh filtration to obtain a clarified protein-rich filtrate. The filtrate is acidified to precipitate a protein fraction, which is recovered by mesh filtration and further subjected to ultra-acidification, settling and mesh filtration to remove residual non-protein contaminants and obtain a purified protein fraction. The purified protein fraction is then subjected to mineral fortification using a controlled blend of calcium hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide, followed by washing and neutralization to obtain the high-purity, mineral- fortified plant protein isolate. The method avoids centrifugation and membrane-based separation and enables recovery of a mineral-fortified protein isolate while permitting utilization of fibrous solid fractions as animal feed.
