MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541028212 A) filed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited on March 26, 2025, for Method For In-Situ Draining / Refilling Of Alternator Oil On Aircraft.
Inventors include Mr. Kavirayani Chandra Shekar; Mr. Mahadevappa N.; and Satish Kumar Pandey.
The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.
Abstract: This innovative process was developed tested and implemented for reducing the time and material cost for removal/replenishment/ refilling of the alternator oil during periodic inspection (40+5 hrs) in turbojet engines. Two different tools were used, one for port side and other for starboard side with available procedure to replaced/replenished/refilled alternator residual oil after removal to associated units i.e. air-starter(7) (star-board) and techo-generator (port side)(1). Removal of residual oil is done for avoiding any chocking/clogging due to contamination. In new method, with a new design of single tool (27) without removal of any of the units and utilising the direct access of air starter (7) spindle the residual oil can be removed and oil replenishment/removal can be done easily and is cost effective.
