MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531057071 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Patna on June 13, 2025, for Method For Fabricating Spherical And Non-Spherical Polydimethylsiloxane (pdms) Microparticles.
Inventors include Syed Ahsan Haider; Rohit; Aathira Sarath Chandran; and Dr. Abhishek Raj.
The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of fabricating polydimethylsiloxane microparticles without the need for expensive instrumentation comprising the steps of preparing a shearing solution comprising xanthan gum and introducing the polydimethylsiloxane solution into the continuously stirred shearing solution for the formation of discrete droplets to obtain solidified discrete microparticles of polydimethylsiloxane in spherical and non-spherical shapes.
