Abstract: METHOD FOR FABRICATING ENGINEERED BAMBOO SCRIMBER EMPLOYING A NON-TOXIC BAMBOO-DERIVED RESIN Provided is a method (100) for fabricating engineered bamboo scrimber employing a non-toxic bamboo-derived resin. The method comprises separating (102) bamboo fibrous strands or slivers from one or more bamboo culms. Further, the method comprises extracting (104) lignin and cellulose from the bamboo fibrous strands or slivers. Upon extracting lignin and cellulose, the method comprises chemically (106) modifying the extracted lignin and cellulose. Thereby, the method comprises preparing (108) the non- toxic bamboo-derived resin by mixing the chemically modified lignin and cellulose. Furthermore, the method comprises applying (110) the non-toxic bamboo-derived resin on the bamboo fibrous strand or slivers. Moreover, the method comprises fabricating (112) the engineered bamboo scrimber by compressing resin-coated bamboo fibrous strands or slivers into a solid shape under heat and pressure.
