MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641125882 A) filed by Nitte Deemed To Be University; and Dr. Niju Rajan on October 22, 2026, for Method For Enhancing The Performance Of Chemiresistive Ethanol Sensors.
Inventor includes Dr. Niju Rajan.
The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method (100) for enhancing the performance of chemiresistive ethanol sensors, the method (100) comprises preparing a precursor solution by dissolving a metal oxide precursor, adding a metal dopant to solution to enhance ethanol sensing characteristics, incorporating a complexing agent into solution to obtain a homogenous solution, depositing the homogenous solution onto a heated substrate to form a nanostructured transition metal oxide thin film, treating the thin film thermally to improve crystallinity and microstructural characteristics, annealing the thin film on an electrical contact region to fabricate a chemiresistive ethanol sensor, maintaining the sensor at an operating temperature to establish a baseline electrical resistance of the thin film, measuring resistance of the thin film in a reference atmosphere, exposing the thin film to an atmosphere including ethanol and measuring a change in electrical resistance of the thin film corresponding to the presence and concentration of ethanol.
