Abstract: The titled invention discloses a method for developing heterostructured Co-NiSe2 nanorods on MXene nanosheet as synergistic electrode material for supercapacitors. MXenes, a class of two-dimensional (2D) materials, have gathered significant attention as excellent electrode materials for various energy storage due to their exceptional properties, including high metallic conductivity, rich surface functionality, hydrophilicity, large surface area, and excellent electrochemical stability. In this work, we report the heterostructured growth of bimetallic Co-NiSe2 nanorods on MXene sheets via a simple hydrothermal method. The resulting Co- NiSe2 hybrid exhibits a nanorod-like morphology with uniform distribution over the MXene surface. When tested as an electrode material for supercapacitors, the composite demonstrates excellent electrochemical performance including a high specific capacitance of 1394.8 F g-1 at a current density of 1 A g-1. The hybrid electrode also delivers an energy density of 20 Wh kg-1 at a power density of 684 W kg-1. Furthermore, the material exhibits good rate capability and cycle stability, confirming its potential as a next-generation electrode for high-performance supercapacitor applications.
