Abstract: ABSTRACT “METHOD FOR DETERMINING DISTRIBUTED DAMPING RESISTANCE VALUES FOR A SEGMENTED AIR-CORED ROGOWSKI COIL” A method for determining segment-specific distributed damping resistance values for a segmented air-cored Rogowski coil (100) is disclosed. The method comprises constructing a distributed electrical model (200) of the coil using parasitic electrical parameters extracted from the physical coil geometry, determining frequency- response parameters over a predetermined operating frequency range, identifying resonance modes, and quantifying the contribution of individual winding segments (102, 104, 106, 108) to generate segment-wise resonance contribution indices (300). A segment-specific damping requirement is determined for each winding segment according to its quantified resonance contribution. Corresponding damping resistance values are then assigned to the respective winding segments to form a non- uniform distributed damping network comprising resistors (R1, R2, R3, R4). The electrical response of the coil is evaluated and the damping resistance values are iteratively refined until predetermined electrical performance criteria including bandwidth, resonance suppression, phase response, and current measurement accuracy are achieved. The resulting segmented air-cored Rogowski coil current sensor (100) provides selective suppression of multiple resonance modes and improved wideband current measurement performance.
