Abstract: The present application provides a method for determining channel state information and a communication apparatus. The method provided in the present application comprises: sending first indication information, the first indication information being used for indicating the position of sending a downlink reference signal; receiving channel statistic information, the channel statistic information being determined on the basis of the downlink reference signal; sending second indication information, the second indication information being used for indicating the position of sending an uplink reference signal; and receiving the uplink reference signal, and determining channel state information according to the uplink reference signal and the channel statistic information. According to the method provided by the present application, a terminal device sends an uplink reference signal according to an indication of a network device, so that there is no need to occupy a large amount of time- frequency resources, and the network device calculates channel state information by using the uplink reference signal and channel statistic information, so that the terminal device does not need to have relatively high calculation complexity.
