MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641077387 A) filed by Sr University on June 23, 2026, for Method For Designing Vegfr-Targeting Small Molecules Using Fragment- Based Recombination For Colorectal Cancer.
Inventors include J Sai Priya; and Dr. Muthu Kumar T.
The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT Disclosed herein is a method (100) for designing VEGFR-targeting small molecules using fragment-based recombination for colorectal cancer, the method (100) comprises collecting a set of known VEGFR inhibitor molecules, generating molecular representations of the collected molecules, fragmenting the molecules into a plurality of chemical fragments, selecting at least one of the fragments based on predefined structural similarity criteria, recombining the selected fragments derived from different parent VEGFR inhibitor molecules to generate a plurality of candidate hybrid molecules, performing molecular docking of the candidate molecules with a VEGFR target protein to determine binding affinity, analysing interactions between the candidate molecules and active-site residues of the target protein, screening the candidate molecules across multiple biological pathways associated with tumour progression, selecting at least one candidate molecule based on binding affinity and predicted pharmacokinetic properties.
