Abstract: A method for decoding image information according to the present disclosure involves: acquiring image information including supplemental enhancement information (SEI) processing sequence information including a processing sequence for a group of types of SEI messages; and determining the processing sequence for the group of the types of the SEI messages on the basis of the SEI processing sequence information. The SEI processing sequence information includes payload type information indicating the types of the SEI messages, prefix presence information indicating whether pieces of prefix information about the SEI messages are present, and processing sequence information indicating the processing sequence according to the types of the SEI messages. When an SEI message in which the prefix information is not present and which is of a first type is included in the SEI processing sequence information, another SEI message in which the prefix information is present and which is of the first type may not be included in the SEI processing sequence information or SEI processing sequence information different from the SEI processing sequence information included in the current coded layer video sequence (CLVS).
