MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202644018081 A) filed by Schaeffler Technologies AG & Co. Kg on February 18, 2026, for Method For Controlling The Rotation Of A Vehicle Engine Camshaft.
Inventors include Stphane Eloy; and Fabien Joseph.
The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for controlling the rotation of a camshaft of an engine (10) of a vehicle (1), said engine (10) comprising a camshaft (16) and an angular-position measurement sensor (17), said method comprising the steps of detection (E2), by a sensitive element (174), of the passage of an edge (173A, 173B), determination (E4) of an identification time interval (Tn) corresponding to the duration separating successive edges in the generated signal, calculation (E5) of an identification ratio (Rmes,n), calculation (E8*) of a theoretical reverse ratio in which the determined identification time interval (Tn) is replaced by a reverse time interval (Tinv,n) stored in memory, comparison (E9*) between the identification ratio (Rmes,n), the nominal ratio (Rnom,n) and the reverse ratio (Rinv,n), and detection of a reverse rotation of the camshaft (16) if the identification ratio (Rmes,n) is closer to the reverse ratio (Rinv,n).
