Abstract: ABSTRACT Title: METHOD FOR ADVANCED SEISMIC DATA INTERPRETATION AND A SYSTEM THEREOF. The present invention provides a method for advanced seismic data interpretation comprising receiving 3D seismic dataset of plurality of seismic traces, selecting a seismic trace from said plurality of seismic traces for interpretation, dividing the selected seismic trace into a plurality of windows of predefined size and initiating a loop for every window, whereby for each window, scaling distances between amplitude samples corresponding to combinations of amplitude pairs within the window are computed and thereby a scaling range is defined based on the computed scaling distances and correlation integral values corresponding to the scaling range are computed, defining a trend line from plotting of natural logarithms of the scaling range and the correlation integral values, whereby slope of the trend line corresponds to scaling exponent for the chosen window, computing the scaling exponent values for every window of the selected seismic trace, repeating the above steps for all seismic traces in the seismic dataset and computing double derivative of the scaling exponent values to detect features on seismic sections based thereon for seismic data interpretation including automated identification of subsurface geological features such as faults, channels, and horizons without requiring labeled training data or manual intervention.
