Inventors include Manoj Kumar; Yogesh R Badhe; and Siva Sankar Padhy.

The application for the patent was published on September 04, 2026, under issue no. 36/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and system for remotely triggering and updating at least one electronic control unit (ECU) even when the electronic control unit is operated at low-power or sleep state. The method comprises the steps of: generating, by a cloud server, a wake-up request signal to activate the ECU; detecting and validating, by a listener module being associated with the ECU, the wake-up request signal from the cloud server; seamlessly shifting, by the listener module, the ECU from the low-power/sleep state into an operational state; establishing, by the listener module, a firmware over-the-air (FOTA) session and update package to a FOTA managing unit; validating and extracting, by the FOTA managing unit, delta update information asynchronously from the FOTA package; processing and installing, by the FOTA managing unit, the delta update information on the ECU; and reinstating, by the FOTA managing unit and the listener module, the ECU back to the low-power/sleep state after installing of the update information on the ECU. Thus, the present invention is capable of achieving effective updates and critical updates on the ECU even in the low-power or sleep mode.
