MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641106096 A) filed by Sri Eshwar College Of Engineering on September 03, 2026, for Method And System For Threshold-Based Automated Control And Comparative Performance Evaluation Of Evaporative Cooling In Battery Thermal Management.
Inventors include Naveenprabhu V; and Devapprakash A.
The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and system for threshold-based automated control and comparative performance evaluation of an evaporative cooling arrangement used for battery thermal management in electric and hybrid vehicle applications. The method comprises continuously monitoring the temperature of one or more battery cells, such as Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) cells connected to an electrical load simulating discharge conditions, using a temperature sensor, and comparing the monitored temperature against a predetermined threshold value using a comparison module. Upon the monitored temperature exceeding the threshold, a control module automatically activates a forced-air circulation fan in combination with a moisture-retentive evaporative cooling pad; upon the temperature falling to or below the threshold, the control module automatically deactivates the cooling mechanism. The invention further comprises a comparative performance evaluation procedure in which battery temperature is recorded a
