Abstract: ABSTRACT [0021] In order to meet the increasing need for clean drinking water throughout the world, saltwater or brackish water can be transformed into fresh water using a process called solar desalination. Through the use of solar stills or solar-assisted multi-effect distillation, this novel technique harnesses the sun's plentiful energy to power the desalination process. The saline water in a solar still is heated by sunlight, which causes it to evaporate. The vapor is then condensed back into liquid form as freshwater, disposing of the salts and contaminants. When freshwater supplies are few and sunshine is abundant, solar desalination offers a viable and eco-friendly solution to the problem of water shortage. It lessens the environmental effect of producing freshwater for use in conventional desalination processes by providing a renewable and energy-efficient substitute. A solar still is a device which use the heat of the sun to evaporate water, allowing it to cool and gather, so purifying it, and then distills water with compounds dissolved in it. They are utilized in places where there isn't access to drinking water, allowing people to make clean water out of polluted water. There are various types of solar stills which differ in their designs and they provide various rates of evaporation. Considering the tubular solar still, as it is more efficient in collecting the sun’s radiation compare to the remaining designs.
