MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511004923 A) filed by Birla Institute Of Technology & Science, Pilani on January 21, 2025, for Method And System For Processing High-Resolution Satellite Image Time Series Suitable For Spatiotemporal Data Analysis.

Inventors include Goyal Poonam; Kaur Arshveer; and Goyal Navneet.

The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method (200) and a system (100) for processing high-resolution satellite image time series (SITS) for spatiotemporal data analysis. The method (200) includes dividing each image of one or more high-resolution SITS into one or more patches and identifying one or more patch tubes as regions of interest from the one or more high-resolution SITS based on concentrated information in the one or more patch tubes. The one or more high-resolution SITS corresponds to geographical area includes one or more objects. The method (200) includes determining non-redundant patch tubes from the identified one or more patches and generating a reconstructed image frame using the selected non-redundant patch tubes from the SITS embedding. The reconstructed image frame includes of a middle frame joining the selected non-redundant patch tubes. [FIG. 1]
