Abstract: METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PRESSURE-BASED PUMP CONTROL FOR UREA DOSING The present invention relates to urea dosing pump control in Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) exhaust aftertreatment mechanism. The present invention provides a method and system (100) implementing a finite state machine (116) comprising at least a START state, a READY state, a FILLING state, a DOSING state, a FILLING PROTECTION state, an EMPTY state, and an ERROR state. A urea dosing pump actuator (104) is maintained in the OFF condition during the READY state, which provides a dedicated diagnostic platform prior to pump activation. Fill completion of the urea transfer line (108) is confirmed when average hydraulic pressure (P_avg) within the line meets or exceeds a calibrated lower pressure threshold (P_threshold_low), rendering fill confirmation independent of transfer line length. Dosing commences only upon pressure-confirmed fill, and any fault condition causes deterministic transition to the ERROR state with actuator forced OFF. Reference:
